Pandemic Summer Travel – Take 2!

Well here we are.

Getting ready to roll into a second summer in a Pandemic.

With states and travel opening up, you may be itching to travel.  I know we are.

We had wanted to travel across the pond to visit family.  We had to re-work our plans and are instead heading out to California, to the beach, once again.

We are not the type of family to go to the same place, multiple times.  Maybe a couple of years later but not two summers in a row.  But here we are heading back to Cali. San Diego. To the beach.

Actually, looking forward to it.  So many of our vacations are running here there and everywhere. It’s nice to actually chill.

That said, I am planning on some surf lessons for the kids.  Hoping to go on an excursion or two.

Anyhow, many families find themselves in this predicament.

Are cases surging?  Is it safe to travel?  Maybe you have been able to get vaccinated, but what about the kids?  Can you still get COVID when you’ve been vaccinated?  Ok I am not going to answer that question here.

You have to decide what is safe for you and your family.  I KNOW I don’t want to spend oodles of money travelling somewhere to have everything shut down, or under curfews, or unable to visit and meet locals and get the travel experience.

We are lucky. The US is vast, it is beautiful.  Full of natural wonders. From sea to shining sea, so much to see and do. Get out into the outdoors, experience this great nation.

Travel local.  Do a staycation.  Visit your city.  Do all the touristy things that you never get a chance to do in your town. The people that work in the restaurants and shops and museums and hotels need your business right now.  To get back on track.  To survive.

Look for state parks or monuments that you’ve never been to.  Get out the map and chart a course.

Again, some of the safest options for travel are in the great outdoors. Get outside. Social distance. Be Safe and have fun!

C’mon Let’s Go!
